Do I need Private Health?

For obstetrics it is preferred that you have private health, if not you must be willing to be a self funding patient.

For Gynaecological patients although private health cover is beneficial it is not required as we have access to public operating lists at Castlemaine Health. You will however still have to pay consultation fees if you do not have private health.

What do I need to bring?

Any pathology / radiology results that are valid to your visit.

Medicare card/private health details.

List of questions you may have.

What if my period is due at the time of my appointment?

For a Colposcopy – not menstruating is preferred.

If on the pill, you may delay your period by not taking the sugar tablets.

If you are not on the pill, you can either reschedule your appointment if you wish to not go ahead, but you can still see Dr Borozdina if you do have your period.

What if I cant make my appointment?

Ideally 24 hours notice is appreciated, it means that the reception staff can fill the appointment spot for those whom are on the cancellation list. Whilst we understand things pop up unexpectedly. Reminder text messages are sent 48 hours prior to your appointment to confirm your attendance.

Fail to attend letters are sent out if you fail to cancel your appointment, and if a regular occurrence, fees may apply.

There may be times that Dr Borozdina may need to change your appointment due to a delivery/emergency which is unexpected, we endeavour to give you ample amount of time and re-book you as soon as possible.
